Implementation of Office 365 helped Aston Martin company to increase productivity and security of the IT systems, convenience of work of remote workers and also to save means on support of IT infrastructure. At employees of IT department loading significantly decreased, and time for the solution of strategic tasks was released.

The Aston Martin company, producer of sports cars, has 120 representations in 28 countries of the world. At the same time the IT department ensuring functioning of such distributed infrastructure consists of only 15 people. It was required to simplify work of IT specialists, to exempt them from accomplishment of routine tasks and also to optimize process of interaction of employees. The company decided to transfer the mail service to a cloud. After consideration of proposals of several suppliers Office 365 E3 which includes Lync the licenses Office 365 ProPlus, Exchange Online, Online was selected and SharePoint Online.

"Office 365 provided to the company everything that was necessary. The product is created especially for such corporate environment which we have: with access from any place in the world and the different service levels. Employees of Microsoft Services Premier Support supported us for all transition time. They helped to develop the plan of migration during some days off with a minimum risk — the manager of IT infrastructure of Aston Martin Daniel Roach Hands (Daniel Roach-Rooke) says. — Office 365 allows us not to worry about service. We do not think of drives, planning of available amounts of data, the organization of external access or failures in work. It is true luxury".

Possibilities of Office 365 meet all corporate requirements of Aston Martin. So, employees can store correspondence in personal cloud archive, and specialists of IT department can manage it, at the same time administration of Exchange Online and Lync Online is separated into several levels. This platform also provides protection against viruses and spam filtering in incoming letters.

"Office 365 is completely integrated into our Windows service by Server Active Directory, – Daniel Roach Hands notes. – When the new employee comes to the company, it is only enough to support service to create for him an account. The rest will make Office 365. We are adherents of technologies of Microsoft for a long time, for example, last year we implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX, and we are going to expand further our cooperation".

Besides Aston Martin unrolled SharePoint Online in addition to local SharePoint Server 2013. It allowed the staff of the company to use the program of Microsoft for cooperation with suppliers and contractors. In the future the car maker is going to integrate SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server 2013 on hybrid Wednesday for ensuring a bigger flexibility of corporate IT infrastructure.
