Description

The service Megadisk will help to save library of documents, a photo, video or music of users on a remote server, for subscribers Megafon, with an opportunity to get access to the files from any device in any place by means of the Internet.

The basis of a product was formed by technology of the Russian software developer of ASD Technologies which also cooperates with such multi-national companies as LG and Vestel Electronics. With service Megadisk users can safely store the library of documents, a photo, video or music on a remote server with an opportunity to get access to the necessary file from any device and in any place through the Internet. For convenience of users the service is available via the website, the application to the desktop PC (both for Windows, and for OS X) and also mobile application for smartphones and tablets — iOS or Android.

Availability

For October 8, 2013 service works in the test mode. 10 GB are free of charge provided to all subscribers who connected Megadisk service during test operation for storage of files. After end of the test period at connection 2 free gigabytes will be offered the user. If desired it is possible to increase volume exactly so as far as it is necessary.

Subscribers can load files on Megadisk via the browser on the website of service or by means of a special application for the computer running the Windows or OSX operating system which can be downloaded on the same website. For loading of files in storage from the smartphone it is enough to install mobile application from Appstore or GooglePlay. In this case it is possible to configure automatic loading of a photo from the smartphone on Megadisk.

In April, 2014 MegaFon announced start in commercial operation of Megadisk service. This cloud storage which allows to integrate files on the working and home computer, the tablet and the smartphone in uniform space. The traffic used by the subscriber of MegaFon for access to the files on Megadisk on the mobile Internet is not rated. Thus, it is possible to configure automatic synchronization of all files on the smartphone with the cloud storage and not to worry about how it will affect the account. After start in commercial operation, to each subscriber at registration in service 2 GB in storage are selected free of charge, and when exceeding this volume each additional gigabyte will cost only 30 kopeks a day. At the same time if the user reduces the volume of the stored data back to 2 GB, then again uses service free of charge. Subscribers who need a lot of place will be able to purchase a special packet: on 50 GB or 100 GB. The cost of packets – 150 and 300 rub a month respectively.

For registration and authorization in Megadisk the login and the password from "Service Guide" is used. Subscribers of MegaFon by means of a special application for the computer or directly via the browser on the website disk.megafon.ru can load files. To load files into storage from the smartphone, it is necessary to install mobile application from AppStore or Google Play.

Since November 6, 2014 the volume of storage on Megadisk of the telecom operator MegaFon became unlimited. Now subscribers can load any amount of music, photo or video files there. To share the file with friends or colleagues, it is enough to send them the link. The convenience of Megadisk that files will not be gone if there are malfunctions with the computer or will be lost the smartphone. Access to Megadisku is open from any device connected to the Internet.

Data are removed after 90 days during which the user was blocked. Also there is a complete removal of all data if the user terminates the agreement or renews it on other person.

If for work with Megadisk the subscriber uses the Mobile Internet from MegaFon, he pays traffic from loading and downloading of files according to the tariff plan. Loading speed at the same time is not limited. For data loading through other network Internet traffic is not rated, but the speed of data loading is limited up to 3 Mbit/sec. if more than 3 GB a month, the speed of loading decreases to 64 Kbps.
