Aeroflot distributed to technicians tablets based on Windows OS

In October, 2013 group CDC announced implementation in Aeroflot of a system of an automated system of control of the productive activity and data exchange (EXPERT KPDIOD) intended for operational management of the land equipment and platform personnel at Sheremetyevo Airport.

A system provides operational transfer of tasks for execution of works and text messages to the platform employees executing service of aircrafts, obtaining reports from them on accomplishment of tasks and also allows to perform monitoring of location and movements of employees on the platform on the electronic card.

For work with a system distributed to platform personnel the protected communicators based on Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 OS and the protected tablets based on Windows 7 OS. Data exchange between mobile devices and the server of a system is performed on MTS 3G-networks.

As of October, 2013 160 employees take part in the project, however expansion to 340 mobile jobs is planned and completions the EXPERT KPDIOD regarding expansion of its functionality are conducted, reports integrator of the project.

Using a new system Aeroflot will be able to trace each step of the personnel servicing aircrafts

As explain in CDC, earlier the staff of platform services of Aeroflot reported on work progress on radio sets because of what there was an overload of the selected RF spectrum. According to the results of primary operation the EXPERT KPDIOD load of a part of radio channels decreased more than by 25%, and waiting time of a radio channel for information transfer on service of aircrafts was reduced.

Besides, a system provided providing operational information on cargo loading of the aircraft (LIR) on the mobile terminal in works location without use of additional resources of communication. Earlier for providing the employee with this information it was required to receive printout on paper carrier in the terminal of Sheremetyevo that required extra time.

Aeroflot believes that implementation of such solution is economically justified as it allowed "increase service quality of aircrafts, reduce a run and outages of technology and also more effectively to distribute tasks to platform personnel".
