Digital LED OKI ES9541 printer

On November 7, 2013 the Japanese producer of the list devices OKI provided the new LED digital ES9541 printer of A3 format intended, first of all, for professional use in polygraphic business in Russia.

The main distinctive feature of the new device in the company call existence of a toner in it with the fifth color – white or glossy gloss – in addition to standard CMYK set with four cartridges for color print.

OKI note that using toners it is possible to create printing materials with additional effects for which usually it is necessary to use the separate expensive digital or lithographic equipment.

The range of application of a white toner, for example, includes printing on color paper, a transparent film, t-shirts using transfer paper, production of signs and POS materials, advertizing and marketing goods, explain in OKI. The colourless glossy toner, in turn, will find application for creation of brilliant effects at printing of directories, reference books, photobooks and also promotional and marketing materials.

The print speed of the ES9541 printer makes 50 pages per minute at color or mono-printings without use of toners, 45 pages per minute with a white toner and 18 pages per minute with a glossy toner. For printing on the device paper of high density – up to 369 g/sq.m (one-sided) and 320 g/sq.m (double-sided) and also a film and waterproof paper can be used.

The cost of the new printer in retail will be about 650 thousand rubles. High price of the printer in the company is explained with the fact that it is intended for professional use. The Digital Paradise shop specializing in sales of list devices told TAdviser what as of the announcement moment similar solutions of other producers are even more expensive of.

The marketing director of OKI in Russia Sergey Lebedev told TAdviser that innovation will arrive to Russia in December, 2013, and the limited number of partners of the company who especially for it will be trained on a product will sell it.

Russia became the second country in Europe where OKI provided innovation, Lebedev adds: week before it it was officially provided in Germany, and in line – France and Spain. He preferred not to sound expectations on ES9541 sales volumes in Russia, however told that in Germany preorders approximately for 70 such devices are already made. The prices of the new printer in Russia and Europe are identical, he adds.
