The MIAC of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Chuvash Republic will provide VPN for 62 medical institutions

On November 7, 2013 branch of Rostelecom in the Chuvash Republic and "Medical information and analytical center" Ministries of Health and Social Development of the Chuvash Republic signed the service provision agreement on the organization of telecommunication infrastructure between the medical organizations subordinated to the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Chuvashia.

Project Tasks

Project implementation will allow to provide smooth functioning of the republican medical information system directed to resource management optimization, coordination of actions and information exchange between different subjects of a system of providing medical care, effective management of flows of patients, reduction of waiting time of medical care and, finally, – on improvement of quality of medical services and satisfaction of patients with medical care.

Project Progress

According to the signed agreement Rostelecom will create a virtual private network (VPN) on the basis of multiservice network with capacity of communication channels not less than 100 Mbps. The single telecommunication system will cover 62 medical institutions of Chuvashia (148 objects): city and district hospitals, maternity hospitals, dental clinics and also other general and specialized medical institutions. The created infrastructure will allow the customer to receive all necessary multiservices – from the operational protected data exchange between medical institutions to the organization of a high-quality video conferencing.

Implementation of this project provides laying of additional fiber lines of communication to medical institutions of the republic with a total length about 70 km. Trunk lines of communication will pass on underground services. The telecommunication system will cover 26 localities of Chuvashia, including 5 cities and 21 municipal districts.

The works provided by the signed agreement will be complete no later than December 10, 2013.
