Svyazcom.SS7 Gateway

Svyazcom.SS7 Gateway is the hardware and software system expanding possibilities of the normal switching equipment.

Description

The solution Svyazcom.SS7 Gateway allows to analyze, modify and filter messages ^[1] and to collect statistics. The present possibilities allow to facilitate balancing/transfer of traffic between components of network of the Operator, fight against SMS spam and also deployment of new services.

Functionality

• Processing of SMS traffic
  • control of external SMS traffic (collection of information, identification of attempts of strangers spam mailings and blocking on the fly);
  • readdressing of the SMS for subscribers (both from the, and from strangers);
  • identification and blocking of SMS spam from MSC sending the SMS from subscribers of the operator who allegedly are in roaming;
  • modification on the fly SMSTP-Reply-Path flag. The flag is exposed by phone which sends the SMS and says that it is necessary to respond to the accepted SMS through SMSC of the message sender;
  • other processing at the request of the Operator.

• Control of external ISUP traffic (collection of information, modifying and blocking of calls with indication of any possible reasons of a release).
• Easy deployment of service of WelcomeRoamer:
  • Control and a greeting of the subscribers in foreign network.
  • Control and a greeting of foreign subscribers in roaming of the network.

• Identification and blocking of the cloned SIM cards in roaming.
• Collecting of detailed statistics of SS7 traffic:
  • on ISUP calls;
  • on SMS traffic.

• Universal interfaces for processing procedures of SS7-of traffic which allow to solve individually requirements of the operator for the analysis, monitoring and modification of SS7 traffic.
• Permanent record of transit SS7 traffic for needs of its further analysis.
• Flexible conditions of routing of SS7 traffic (for example, for the organization of simultaneous operation of several SMSC and smooth transfer of traffic between them). When choosing a route such parameters as Global Title, Point Code, SSN, the code of MAP transaction, numbers of the sender and the receiver can be considered be obese messages.

Schemes and methods of inclusion in network of the operator

The solution assumes two methods of inclusion in network of the operator:

• routing of SS7 traffic at the MTRZ (RS) levels;
• inclusion in a rupture of communication channels (SIGTRAN, G.703 E1 of SL,G.703 E1 of HSL).

In the provided scheme the Svyazcom.SS7 Gateway platform works as SS7 STP (Signal transfer point).
