Wildberries strengthens IT infrastructure new hardware solutions

On November 20, 2013 the Dell company announced participation as uniform solution provider for creation of IT infrastructure in Wildberries online store.

As a result of the active growth of the company vision of own IT infrastructure changed. To shop the flexible and scalable solution for ensuring high performance when processing large volumes of data, increase in processing speed of the client requests arriving via the website was required. In parallel it is necessary to provide the continuity of business processes and to reduce energy consumption.

Project Progress

Solving assigned tasks specialists of Dell company developed the complete solution. The high-performance reliable equipment of Dell — EqualLogic PS disk arrays, the M1000e chassis, the PowerEdge servers of the 12th generation a blade type and for installation in a rack (PowerEdge M620 and PowerEdge R820 respectively), the network Dell Networking equipment, thin clients of Dell Wyse, monitors — and also a service package on deployment of systems and their round-the-clock technical support was its part from Dell company.

Project Results

With implementation of new infrastructure the Wildberries online store got a number of the major advantages in comparison with competitors:

• an opportunity to process big databases — performance of storage systems increased to 20%;
• the increased number of transactions via the website thanks to capability effectively and quickly to process client requests via the website with a low indicator of delays in customer service;
• system availability – 99.99;
• decrease by 35% of housekeeping overheads of infrastructure.

In addition the customer decided to use cloud computing for optimization of work of warehouses - the solutions Dell VDI for virtualization of desktops will provide to the customer the high level of comfort in work and unsurpassed degree of security of IT infrastructure.
