Vigstar upgrades corporate network of data exchange

On November 22, 2013 reported LanKey integrator: network infrastructure Vigstar is upgraded.

Project Tasks

The existing network infrastructure did not correspond to promptly developing technologies used at scientific developments of SPC Vigstar and the management of the enterprise made the strategic decision directed to improvement of IT infrastructure according to the highest modern international standards in the field of network technologies. The local computer network Vigstar consisted of consistently connected uncontrollable switches with capacity of ports less than 100 Mbps, against the background of not provided fault tolerance. Such situation created the risks connected with serious financial losses for the enterprise.

Project Progress

Engineers of LanKey carried out the analysis of a LAN and revealed requirements to upgrade. The network should provide: connection of each device on speed not less than 1 Gbps, scalability, reservation of connections and reservation of active network equipment, capacity of the ports connecting active network equipment not less than 10 Gbps. On the basis of the formulated requirements active network equipment was replaced, the architecture of network is changed. The network is built on topology "star" on the basis of the Huawei S6700 and S5700 switches. Switches are equipped with standby units of a power supply that provides their fault tolerance and high reliability of network.

Project Results

As a result of upgrades of network infrastructure of SPC Vigstar uses high-performance, multiservice, scalable network that will allow to increase further the park of the equipment and to increase number of staff without the need for immediate upgrade.
