Clinics of Chaika unrolled virtual IT infrastructure

On November 22, 2013 it became known of the project of deployment of IT infrastructure in Clinics Chaika company with participation of provider of cloud solutions Cloud4Y.

Project Tasks

Trying to reduce capital costs, the management of Clinics Chaika network formulated two main tasks for the CIO Boris Svetlov: minimum number of regular IT specialists and greatest possible outsourcing.

Project Progress

As a result "Clinics Chaika" rented at Cloud4Y a farm of terminal servers, virtual machines Xen and VMware MS Exchange server, cloud automatic telephone exchange, the server SQL and a number of licenses: Microsoft 1C antivirus and antispam.

The local equipment, is provided in lease by the IT supplier. For equipment of clinics the Cloud4Y company delivered thin clients (monoblocks), the MFP, IP phones for connection to the virtual PBX, network equipment (switches, routers), plasma display panels.

The first stage of the project took week and for this period IT infrastructure of the enterprise is constructed, corporate mail is adjusted, office applications are started. Within the second stage the IT architecture of separate branches is organized. At the third stage the equipment on places was installed and clinics opened. To the last branches the technology was so debugged that on creation of IT infrastructure of one object left from one to two weeks.

"Not enough time was allowed for start-up and equipment checkout. In parallel delivered furniture, the medical, computer and other hardware. Despite it, the IT supplier managed to complete the work even in shorter terms, than described in the agreement", – Boris Svetlov noted.

It was supposed to provide fault tolerance with the assistance of two different Internet service providers. Cloud4Y uses own equipment on MMTS-9 and MMTS-10 nodes (the main nodes of joining of telecom operators), clinics are connected on L2 channel directly, providing high connection speed between the central office and clinics.

Project Results

For November 22, 2013 as a part of IT infrastructure of network of clinics of 20 virtual machines and more than 30 services. Own optical ring of Cloud4Y of high availability with the duplicated channels (without uniform point of failure) provides SLA at the level of 99.9% and above.

In addition to the main channel L2 which is used for connection with the clinics constructed on the basis of the isolated VLAN networks the reserve VPN channel is used. At failure of one of channels, within three seconds there is an automatic switching to an alternative channel, at the same time transition does not affect work of users and is not felt as them.
