Technology: | IaaS is Infrastructure as service |
IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) the service, according to the head of Service of marketing of DKP JSC Kazakhtelecom, represents remote access to virtual servers, storage systems in "cloud" for use in the needs. In other words, the virtual data processing center (vDC) will be made available to the client.
vDC is completely isolated and autonomous infrastructure allowing the client to create and clone independently virtual machines, to change their configuration, to manage a configuration of network, to publish supplements in the Internet (using a personal program firewall).
Having received private "cloud" of resources, the client becomes the owner of own virtual data processing center (Virtual Data Center, vDC). Resource management will be made by the client by means of the idhost.kz portal. It will allow to control completely all IT services placed in a cloud and also not to depend on provider of services.
This concept will change methods of deployment, setup and resource management of DPC to the long term. Telecom operators gradually pass to providing model "any resources in the form of service" (XaaS). The fact that the user does not control IT infrastructure directly any more is an important consequence of determination of cloud computing, having transferred this task to oblaka operator. Instead the user signs with the operator the agreement on the level of service (SLA — Service Level Agreement) in which all parameters of the provided service, its cost and also responsibility of the parties for non-compliance with terms of agreement are stated.
The implemented service of virtual data center promises to allocate the owners with the following advantages: independent creation of virtual servers at emergence of like that requirement; configuration change of already existing servers in several minutes, and a part of transactions can be made even without stopping and resets of the server (for some operating systems); management of templates of virtual machines and loading of previously configured images of virtual machines; inclusion, switching off, the OS installation and applications without direct participation of technical staff of data center.
