Rostekhnadzor virtualizes IT infrastructure of regional offices

On December 19, 2013 the R-Style company announced project implementation for Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) - virtual IT infrastructure in 32 territorial authorities of non-profit organization is created.

Project Tasks

Virtualization of IT infrastructure of territorial authorities of Rostekhnadzor was carried out in three steps. At the first two stages R-Style could offer more advantageous conditions on supply of equipment, carried out installation and installation of server racks, set up the equipment, carried out commissioning.

The company which won 3 stages of the project an auction attracted R-Style to implementation of a number of tasks as expert in work with the software solution from VMware.

Project Progress

A transfer of IT infrastructure of Rostekhnadzor in virtual environment was made gradually and covered more than 30 cities of Russia. The IT team of the customer made the plan of work in 3 stages, on each of which the auction was held. The first two stages included territorial authorities of the central part of Russia, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, the last – the cities of the Siberian region and the Far East.

For all territorial authorities technical specialists of Rostekhnadzor requested the single solution at moderate cost including the compact server hardware, high-quality technical support from the producer in the territory of Russia. The project of delivery included products of HP on the basis of which using the vSphere program from VMware virtualization is carried out. For support of uninterrupted power the equipment from Tripp Lite company was used.

"Today among different IT and infrastructure solutions virtualization is in the first place. Therefore when we speak about upgrade of infrastructure, we mean process of its virtualization. The popularity of the solution easily is explained by cost efficiency after implementation: load of administration decreases, costs for energy consumption decrease, the spaces occupied by machines are released, the fault tolerance of systems increases, and the organization becomes more flexible at the solution of different IT tasks, – Alexander Lanin, the director of the center of computer systems of R-Style company told. – When the customer felt positive results from implementation of the vSphere software product, it made the decision to use it and further. It was not simple to work in the winter in the cities of Siberia because of climatic conditions, but we implemented solutions in all necessary cities without delays and for this work received a prestigious award from VMware".
