Tasks of the Public veterinary service of the Russian Federation:

• warning and liquidation of infectious and mass noncontagious diseases of animals;
• security of livestock products in the veterinary and sanitary relation;
• protection of the population against diseases, the general for the person and animals;
• protection of the territory of the Russian Federation from a drift of infectious diseases of animals from the foreign states.
