The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine is equipped with the systems of a video conferencing

On January 28, 2014 the LifeSize company announced supply of equipment for the VKS organization in the Ministry of emergencies of Ukraine.

Department uses the VKS system for ensuring communication between remote divisions in real time. The implementing solutions LifeSize was executed by System Technologies company.

Project Tasks

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine consists of one main department and 27 regional divisions. The modern communication system as at emergence of threat to the state or its citizens, specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations should react quickly and effectively is necessary for department for ensuring harmonious interaction in emergencies. Department made the decision on implementation flexible, the VIDEOCONFERENCING scalable system which is not requiring serious operating costs and support. A choice was made for benefit of the equipment LifeSize.

Project Progress

During creation of a system of a video conferencing of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine two solutions – LifeSize Passport and LifeSize Express are used.

The VKS terminal LifeSize Passport is intended for individual application or for small offices and remote branches. The device supports video in the True HD format (720p30), providing communication with effect of personal presence at any Internet connections with speed of 1 Mbps or more. LifeSize Passport provides convenient means of exchanging the presentations and other data on network.

The system of a video conferencing of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine on the basis of solutions of LifeSize provides:

• multi-user VKS and the built-in opportunities for joint work through networks of the general access;
• the high quality of communication organized due to use of technologies of processing and data transmission on IP networks;
• low cost counting on one employee, lack of need for the additional investments connected with purchase of the specialized equipment and expansion of communication channels;
• scalable architecture and program ports for flexible accumulation of power of a system as required.

Project Results

After system implementation the staff of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine and its regional centers can communicate with each other on a video conferencing at any time and more effectively solve the tasks set to department, for example, such as suppression of wildfires, elimination of effects of a flood or reduction of risk of radioactive pollution.
