Raiffeisenbank implements a new storage system

On February 3, 2014 it became known of implementation in Raiffeisenbank of DWH on the platform of products Oracle.

Project Tasks

In bank information management systems about clients and products are used. The management and operational reporting were under construction on the data warehouse (DW) on the SAS platform. This storage represents copies of these operational systems with a set of data marts.

The purpose of implementation of the new data warehouse - consolidation of information on banks of the Raiffeisen group.

Project Progress

In Raiffeisenbank the new data warehouse of GDWH on the Oracle platform is implemented. In it the data model uniform for all banks of the Raiffeisen group is used. The volume of this storage exceeds 40 Tb., but the needs for the speed of obtaining the reporting grow, and existence of two DWH does not arrange service IT.

As of February 3, 2014 in an IT landscape of bank the operational data storage area (Operational Data Store, ODS) which model is similar to the GDWH model forms. It becomes for the purpose of acceleration of preparation of the reporting - to morning of the day following reporting.

According to Sergey Shchelchkov, the head of department of IT architecture, the vice president of Raiffeisenbank, one of Big Data properties is connected with requirements to obtain data with small delay. In bank faced these requirements, implementing CRM on the Oracle Siebel CRM platform and the similar problem was solved at master data management system implementation (Master Data Management – MDM) for quality improvement of data, deduplication of client information and creation of master record about the client in real time.
