Start Point is a reference system for collective end-to-end product development and maintenance, electronic product data archive (PDM) management, product lifecycle management (PLM ) management, and electronic engineering data workflow.

2014: Go to Market

On February 14, 2014, IBA Group announced the launch of the new Start Point software product. The software product is built on the PTC Creo and PTC Windchill platform of Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC).

The product helps:

  • Reduce the time required to automate the design and technological preparation of production by using a "boxed" solution: ease of implementation, maintenance and ease of operation due to the optimal settings implemented in the product
  • Reduce the cost of operating the system and, accordingly, the cost of manufactured products due to the high quality and reliability of the system, increasing the warranty period for the Start Point software product to two years.

"Start Point" is a "boxed" solution that is fully ready for use, which includes proven solutions that are successfully used at industrial enterprises and meet the maximum GOST and ISO requirements.

Start Point contains enterprise reference books "Standard Products" and "Materials," in which you can flexibly search, view the necessary information, use the information contained, both in the product structure developed in PTC Windchill, and in PTC Creo Parametric documents when drawing, specifications, and mass-centering calculations of models. Reference books "Standard products" and "Other products" include more than 30 thousand items.

Automated processes

In accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 (ISO 9001:2000), the organization must determine all its business processes and ensure their implementation (sections 4.1 and 7.1).

The Start Point software product ensures strict execution of business processes in an automated way. The product includes optimized, proven product design and maintenance processes:

  • The process of managing a restrictive list of elements of the corporate directory (standard and other products, materials)
  • The process of coordination and approval of 3D models, drawings.
  • Process of automatic inspection of the product for compliance with GOST 2.052-2006, GOST 2.053-2006 and the supplied design of the enterprise standard
  • Process of registration and processing of defects, nonconformities and deviations on the product
  • Process of product modification upon notification
  • The process of transferring data to the production system (ERP, MES, etc.)
  • The process of supporting the Start Point software product by the enterprise IT service.

Reports

Start Point automatically generates various deliverables based on product data. In this case, they are generated at the same time, an associative relationship is maintained between them, i.e. changing the data leads to a change in the corresponding reports and drawings that are associated with them. Editing is done in one place, which eliminates errors that occur when entering the same information into documents of different types.

Quality Management

The Start Point system quickly detects and helps to eliminate the reasons for the decline in the quality of products, monitors corrective measures.
