Sibgiprotrans implements a PDM system

On February 21, 2014 the company PSS announced implementation in Sibgiprotrans JSC PDM- systems Autodesk Vault Professional with DarkStream adaptation packet. The partner in the project - office of the engineering and consulting company PSS in Novosibirsk.

Project Tasks

The management of institute made the decision to automate process of exchange of tasks in the environment of SETD for transparent control over the course of project works. It was required to create the uniform protected access point to all project documentation and to design assignments, in particular. The new tool should perform quick search of documents, help to understand the arriving correspondence on projects.

The comprehensive examination conducted for selection of the solution showed - in the company there are no formalized rules of storage and an access to the information of the project, the factor of influence of the person is too big. It leads to essential costs of both work, and time for search of the initial and changed project data and relevant files. In addition it became clear - a huge number of excessive paper work is carried out. Despite all this, the shortcoming or untimely receipt of initial data on the project is felt.

Project Progress

During implementation of PDM in JSC Sibgiprotrans the regulations of access control to the project documentation providing viewing all project documentation including, and to design assignments are created. By means of a PDM system the management of the enterprise received the management tool the course of project works, and designers – the tool of the organization of interaction of departments in development process of the project documentation and the corporate regulations describing this process.

Project Results

"Upon transition to a new solution we, certainly, had to face a number of problems – the most part from them was connected with a human factor. For example, many employees at first perceived Autodesk Vault only as electronic archive, but not as the environment for collective work. It significantly limited their opportunities. But thanks to the training organized by PSS company we managed to overcome these difficulties successfully. As a result we managed to achieve reduction of time of collection of data on the current works as a system allows to see from the workplace features of the project what sections and documents are complete what in work or are handed already over in archive what did not start yet. Of course, for the present early to speak about change of business processes of the company: there took place commissioning, the PDM system received positive assessment of designers and the management and is ready to scaling at all enterprise. We will be engaged in it in the come 2014, keeping all projects of our institute using Vault Professional, - Anatoly Minayev concluded".

As a result for several months specialists Sibgiprotrans received the tool for the organization of all project works and the uniform protected access point to all project documentation in SETD.
