Aqualife completes upgrade of management of work of a warehouse

Content

On February 27, 2014 the AXELOT company announced project completion of automation of warehousing capacit of Aqualife company by means of software implementation of 1C: WMS.

Project Tasks

The production and warehouse Aqualife complex consists of three buildings with a total area of 8.172 thousand sq.m. The company has seven production lines, with power from 125 to 30 thousand pieces/hour (depending on products type). Power of the released pallets – 1244 in change. The complex works in the round-the-clock mode.

In process of increase in production, there was obvious a need of automation of a complex. The essential tasks requiring the solution using implementation of WMS - optimization of placement and processing of finished goods in three separate warehouse complexes, including, the new, equipped with storage system of high density Pallet Runner and also optimization of interwarehouse movements, fall forward and the quality level of warehouse transactions. Besides, using automation it was supposed to increase efficiency of selection and a complete set of goods, to provide a possibility of receiving up-to-date information about goods in a warehouse and performance review of work of employees of a warehouse.

A choice was made for benefit of the 1C: WMS Logistics. Warehouse Management system.

Project Progress

Implementation was performed by a project team of AXELOT in eight months. In the beginning automated the warehouse complex adjoining the main production. Then WMS implemented in a warehouse with storage system of Shuttle (shuttle) and in the warehouse selected under goods for retail shipment and goods of third-party manufacturing companies.

Project Results

Transactions of product acceptance from a zone of production and from external suppliers, transaction of quality control, distribution of products by warehouses and placement in destination rack cells, selection (with observance of requirements of network clients for laying of goods), shipments and inventories are automated.

Data collection terminals of Motorola, both manual, and intended for work on loaders are connected.

In addition to warehouse business processes, specialists of AXELOT automated interwarehouse movements of goods: for example, WMS considers the volume of products which need to be moved, and according to it offers the most suitable vehicle from own park of the company.

By means of system implementation "1C: WMS Logistics. Warehouse Management" all assigned tasks are implemented. Automation helped to ensure smooth operation of a warehouse in mode 24х7 (at increase in sales volume), to increase the accuracy and speed of a complete set of orders, to reduce dependence on personnel, to reduce terms of training of new employees, to provide absolute inventory accuracy and to reduce risk of regrading.
