MTT upgrades network

On March 18, 2014 the press service of JSC MTT announced end of the main stage of large-scale upgrade of own transport network in Russia and abroad, and full translation of network on IP technology. The Ntype company acts as the contractor in 2013-2014.

Project Tasks

JSC MTT began the program of large-scale upgrade of network in 2011. It is calculated until the end of 2016.

In 2013 upgrade of a transport network of data transmission at the kernel level of network using modern Juniper MX-480 routers in the centers of the federal districts of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk) and on the foreign platform in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) is carried out. These actions are dictated by market demands (including the B2B direction in which the MTT company develops), development of the LTE networks and other technologies increasing volumes of the transferred traffic.

"Use of multiservice MX480 platform as universal border is indisputable advantage when providing convergent services, allowing to reduce capital and operating costs considerably. The equipment of such class will allow JSC MTT to expand a range of the provided services and to increase competitiveness in the market of telecommunications" – Andrey Pinayev, the senior system engineer of Juniper Networks company noted.

Project Progress

The Ntype company was included into the project at a stage of the main stage of upgrade of a transport network of MTT, as the system integrator, having acquired the right to work on structure of MTT network across all territory of Russia. Ntype performs supply of equipment, installation and commissioning on all platforms of the customer.

In 2013 project development of upgrade of network, project appraisal and the platforms MTT is carried out.

"Such projects as upgrade of IP-CORE network and upgrade of a node in Frankfurt will give the chance of JSC MTT to pass significantly more traffic, including roaming that will allow the company to increase quality and reliability of the provided services which will meet customer requirements", – Oleg Tsybin, the commercial director told Ntype.
