The size of the market of fabrics for protective overalls was in 2013 32.5 mln sq.m of fabrics (-1% by 2012). In 2013 57% were made by products of domestic production, all 21.1 mln sq.m, for 10% of previous year were manufactured in Russia. According to experts the market will grow for 15-20% a year.

According to DISCOVERY Research Group in the market of protective fabrics in 2014-2015 strong expansion of the market is not expected. By 2017 increase in market size up to 42.1 million sq.m. is predicted. Production of protective fabrics in Russia by 2017 will increase to 30 million sq.m.

In 2013 to Russia 14 mln sq.m of fabrics for protective overalls worth $23 million were delivered. Recession was 17% in kind and 4% in monetary. Most of all into Russia it is imported fabrics for protective overalls from China and Italy. Most of all to Russia it is delivered to products of cheap Chinese producers without trademark and fabrics of the famous European brands (Klopman, Walls FR, Carrington, Nomex).

Traditionally main export volume of fabrics for protective overalls from Russia is the share of two CIS countries – Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Three producers of fabrics for protective overalls are in the lead on export volume: "Tchaikovsky textiles", "Nordteks", "BMK of Melanzhist of Altai".

The need for use of professional clothes and footwear is tested by more than 50 million working in the different industries. Every year demand for this type of fabrics increases by 10-20%.

Main articles of costs in this market – the equipment (about 20-30%), raw materials (20%), keeping of workers (30%).
