Overalls (market of Russia)

According to DISCOVERY Research Group the size of the market of overalls was 64.63 million pieces in 2013. In comparison with 2012 market size was reduced by 2%. The previous year the market of overalls in Russia in kind "sank" more significantly – then the market was reduced by 24%. In value term the Russian market of overalls is estimated by experts at $1 billion.

More than 90% of the domestic market of professional clothes are occupied by the Russian manufacturing companies. However many of them place orders for tailoring of a uniform in the People's Republic of China, thus, only implementing it in Russia. According to official statistics in 2013 62.72 million units of overalls were manufactured in Russia that is 3% less than previous year.

According to specialists of DISCOVERY Research Group the share of protective overalls in the market of overalls makes 40%. Protective overalls are understood as the clothes protecting from different production factors (high temperatures; electroarcs; oil; gas; acid and chemistry; biological infections; wounds and damages; for drawing attention).

According to specialists of DISCOVERY Research Group the size of the market of protective overalls (in a narrow sense) in Russia in 2013 was 25.85 million pieces. At the end of 2013 the market of protective overalls began to be recovered from recession of previous year: reduction of the market was only 2%.

According to DISCOVERY Research Group made on the basis of data of official statistics, the share of import protective overalls in the Russian market makes 2%.

In 2013 the import volume of protective overalls to Russia was 606 thousand pieces with a total cost of $7.62 million. In comparison with previous year overalls import volume to Russia increased twice. The export volume of protective overalls from Russia is low – 11 thousand pieces in 2013 (export grew almost by 1.5 times). Protective clothes – the second largest segment of overalls in structure of import. About 27% of import of overalls to Russia fall to its share. In 2013 90% of the protective overalls imported into Russia were made by products of the Chinese production.

By estimates of specialists, three companies occupy more than a third of the market of special clothes: group of companies "Vostok-Service", "Trakt" and Technoavia.

According to experts, in general production volume of protective overalls increases because in general consumption increases. On average growth of the market of protective overalls is estimated at 10-20% a year in 2014-2015.
