"IDGC of Siberia" implements the system of stream input of data

On March 31, 2014 it became known of system implementation of stream input of ABBYY FlexiCapture in processing of documents of JSC IDGC of Siberia company.

Project Tasks

The company monthly considers quantity of the consumed electric power. For this purpose controllers collect meter readings and fill out bypass sheets in which specify data of the subscriber, information on the counter, indications, date and other. Bypass sheets transfer to operators to offices of the company, and data need to be entered into the accounting system within 7-10 days.

In a month more than 23,000 bypass sheets are typed. Data enter 95 employees of the company into a system. Earlier processing of documents was not automated, i.e. employees spent for this routine task about 30% of the working time at the end of every month. At the same time work was required to be performed in a short time therefore sometimes there were errors or typos.

In JSC IDGC of Siberia the task to increase the processing speed of bypass sheets, to optimize labor costs and also to increase quality of data retrieveds was set.

Solution

To solve the arisen problems, it was required to automate processing of documents, having implemented the system of stream input of documents and data in IDGC of Siberia. Specialists of JSC IDGC of Siberia carried out market research and selected the solution ABBYY FlexiCapture. It is easy to integrate it with the information system existing in the company and to configure under unique business processes, and the opportunity for work via the web interface allows to provide via secure channels access to a system even in the most remote areas and masterful sections.

It is extremely important that ABBYY FlexiCapture supports recognition of rukopechatny Cyrillics, so, copes with the forms completed by hand. Analysts counted that after implementing solution time of employees for data entry will be possible to reduce to 90%.

The high level of technical support and existence of documentation in Russian became separate advantage.

Result

According to specialists, thanks to implementation of ABBYY FlexiCapture and optimization of time of employees costs, at least can be reduced by 1.7 million rubles. After ABBYY FlexiCapture implementation process of data entry in IDGC of Siberia accelerated by 3 times. Now employees spend for document handling on average for 80-90% less time as instead of tiresome manual entry of data they need just to scan bypass sheets and if necessary to verify data retrieveds.

The scanned documents are loaded into the corporate information system (CIS) Phoenix (IDGC of Siberia developed by specialists) which transfers images to ABBYY FlexiCapture. Recognition happens on the server in the automatic mode. If the quantity of uncertainly recognizable characters exceeds 70%, the document comes on additional check to IDGC and via the convenient web interface it is possible to modify inaccuracies. Considering the high accuracy of recognition of ABBYY FlexiCapture, for the majority of documents verification is not required.

The recognized and verified data are included in the database of CIS Phoenix for further use.

The system of stream input of data ABBYY FlexiCapture shows positive results, and the IDGC Sibiri company is going to replicate the solution in branches, production sites and regions of the electric networks.
