LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics implemented a BI system

On April 4, 2014 it became known of an implementation project of the QlikView Business Discovery platform in LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics company.

Project Tasks

Working with a set of data sets – the data on sales within an electronic system of accounting of implementation given supply chain managements and trade inventories, data from systems of accounting of the salary and working time for personnel management – LUSH needs a technology platform which employees at all levels of the company could use for access to up-to-date information about sales, trade inventories, work of shops and personnel for the purpose of increase in efficiency. Therefore the LUSH company made the decision on implementation of the QlikView platform.

The choice of QlikView Business Discovery is based, according to representatives of the company, on simplicity of a system in use: QlikView is applied by specialists of many directions of business that allows the company to gain valuable knowledge of a company performance constantly.

Project Results

The QlikView Business Discovery platform is implemented in all divisions of LUSH company.

Groups on work with retail clients use QlikView for deep studying of indicators of sales of each shop to control accounting sheets, small cash desk and all other aspects of financial management by business activity. This technology is used in all shops to provide them to heads and employees of trading floors access to reports of QlikView that allows to update during the day hourly information on sales and a status of trade inventories and to provide online access to it. Specialists can make optimal solutions, making out stock replenishment orders.

70% of staff of the company use QlikView for daily assessment of sales level and trade inventories, and heads of divisions perform monitoring of efficiency by means of the instrument of control of sales in real time.

QlikView is also used in production division of LUSH for management of trade inventories. QlikView helps specialists of LUSH to see an overall picture on indicators of sales and goods stocks thanks to what it was succeeded to increase forecasting accuracy and selection of suppliers of key and prescription ingredients. It allows LUSH Cosmetics to save freshness of products at all stages of a supply chain.

The technology is used also in records department of the salary. The combination of opportunities of QlikView and the systems of LUSH for management of inventory cost helped the company in the first two years after implementation to save more than £1 million.
