APC InRow Chilled Water

Product
Developers: APC by Schneider Electric
Date of the premiere of the system: April, 2014
Technology: Data processing centers are technologies for DPC

The Schneider Electric company announced in April, 2014 release of the intra line cooling systems on chill InRow Chilled Water water of new generation intended for installation in average and big DPCs. As well as the previous models, they are placed between heat sources, than prevent recirculation of a hot air and also allow to improve predictability of cooling. Modular approach and ample opportunities for scaling that allow to save the taken place and to cut down expenses on upgrade. For the most energy efficient and eco-friendly operation, automatic speed control of rotation of fans and an expense of a cold water according to indicators of the current heat load is provided.

The line of InRow cooling systems was started in 2003 and the first personified the idea of the closest placement of conditioners to sources of the generated heat. Placement of cooling systems among between racks in total with simple and available containerization based on standard elements gave to InRow conditioners indisputable advantage in the conditions of the high density of placement of the server hardware in DPCs.

The new generation of APC InRow Chilled Water differs from the past in a number of features:

  • The increased possibilities of cooling: up to 60 kW, at the same time the air volume which is pumped over by fans is nearly 120 cubic meters a minute, and energy consumption does not exceed 1.9 kW;
  • Severe conditions of work: an opportunity for work even at air temperature on an input in the conditioner +50 °C of degrees;
  • The increased economy: water temperature on an input in the conditioner can be above +15 °C according to new editions of the ASHRAE standard;
  • The improved control of a dew point: air temperature in the cooler remains above a dew point that allows to prevent formation of condensate;
  • Ergonomic controls: a 4.3-inch control panel with the touch LCD screen.
  • Besides, the new generation of systems has the increased energy efficiency, and supports the systems of containerization of cold and hot corridors.

"The InRow Chilled Water systems_the most perfect solutions for cooling of the server hardware in high density power environments of modern DPCs. Modular constructions, ample opportunities of scaling inherent in them and also the improved operational qualities in addition to first-class characteristics, create the economical system meeting the last requirements of standards of environmental friendliness and efficiency. The second generation took all the best from the predecessors, at the same time the numerous improvements giving to a line indisputable competitive advantages were implemented. We have all reasons to believe that, as well as last models, new products will be in great demand at operators of DPC",_Sergey Scherbakov, the head of group of system engineers of division of IT Business of Schneider Electric company comments.
