MDM Bank upgrades infrastructure

On April 7, 2014 MDM Bank announced project completion of upgrade of infrastructure. The project is implemented on the basis of the solutions Hitachi Data Systems jointly by IT department of MDM Bank and specialists of CROC.

Project Results

In the project nine different solutions Hitachi Data Systems are used. In total they allow to reduce influence of the negative factors conducting to a delay and even idle times of banking applications. A number of solutions promotes performance improvement of databases. It in turn affects quality of work of the analytical systems and private "cloud" of bank. Technologies of virtualization are designed to lower operating costs and to simplify administration of infrastructure. The automated monitoring of a storage system reveals problems and plans measures for elimination of effects of failure. One more solution — the system of obtaining the reporting — works on tablet iPad devices. In mobile application data on results of monitoring which then are used by IT specialists of bank for control of all hardware and software system accumulate.

"We see rapid growth of card business in Russia which imposes high requirements to the speed and accuracy of carrying out client transactions. Understanding it, we upgraded storage system, having created the huge potential for the further growth of processing business of MDM Bank — Elliot Goykhman, CIO of MDM Bank noted. — Due to use of the response of a disk system selected a flash array average time decreased by 10 times. It allowed to accelerate transaction processing by 1.5 times and to reduce time of reporting and procedures of end of trading day by 3 times. Failure from support of the old equipment and reduction of processor licenses of databases provided payback of the project less than in one year. Significant reduction of operating expenses of bank became additional benefit of the solution. Use of the equipment Hitachi Data Systems of high density of storage allowed to reduce energy consumption by 25 kW and to release five expensive with firmness - places in our DPC".

All works, including installation, start and setup of a system, were executed within three months. For the project of similar scale it is very short terms".
