IHC Merwede begins complex implementation of a CAD

On April 7, 2014 the Siemens company announced the choice by IHC Merwede company of the integrated solution package for product lifecycle management (PLM) as the corporate standard for product development and data management on the shipyards located worldwide.

Project Tasks

Within the contract with IHC Merwede it is necessary to deliver licenses for a number of software solutions of the company Siemens PLM Software. The company IHC Merwede is going to implement NX — the flagman integrated packet for automated design, preparation of production and reverse engineering CADCAMCAE (//), a system, similar on functionality, Solid Edge for the solution of singular design-technology problems.

Such approach will reduce costs and optimizes workflows due to sharp reduction of number of the different CAD systems applied in IHC company, creations of 3D models of products which are perfectly integrated into corporate systems of product data management (PDM) and the ERP system.

Project Progress

The multimillion contract is signed within a large-scale initiative "Uniform company IHC" which was begun in 2012 for the purpose of approval of all main business processes and increase in return of a company performance. The strategy of division of Siemens PLM Software directed to creation of specialized industry solutions helped to gain trust of IHC Merwede company and to expand business.

The Teamcenter system will be used as the separate PDM system which is a uniform source of huge amount of data about difficult products of IHC Merwede company, numerous options of executions.

Products Teamcenter, NX Solid Edge are also intended for joint work in uniform PLM- a system. Recent acquisition of the company TESIS by the company Siemens allows IHC Merwede to implement the solution for integration checked in practice PLM- and ERP- systems.
