Mobile inventory - the solution of full automation of data collection.

On April 8, 2014 UCS "Mobile inventory" announced the new software product of data collection.

Description

The UCS company suggests to use new technology "mobile inventory".

System:

  • will reduce time of accounting of goods to a minimum
  • will exclude errors at data transfer
  • will make process of inventory the least labor-intensive

The Mobile Inventory technology is based on the principle of figurative carriers for data collection from which information comes directly to the program for the automated conducting inventory accounting. Mobile inventory can be made using different types of self-contained handheld devices.

Mobile inventory with a data collection terminal

The data collection terminal – represents the high-performance manual computer with the laser scanner of a barcode. Pocket terminals are used for collecting, processing and data transmission in the conditions of the large volume of information.

Technology of work

In the program for conducting inventory accounting barcodes are appropriated previously to all goods. Then all this nomenclature is loaded on a data collection terminal. Further the worker responsible for carrying out inventory needs to scan a barcode and to enter goods quantity manually or to scan so many time how many positions need to be entered (depending on terminal model). Then information comes to the program of an inventory control. For example, it can be unloaded in the form of the delivery note in the StoreHouse program.

Using the independent terminal inventory is carried out, data on arrival of goods are entered, damage of products, an office power supply is written off. The terminal can process information on goods quantity and offline.

Mobile inventory using the personal digital assistant

Mobile inventory using the CPC happens similarly. The list of goods and warehouses is transferred from a software module of StoreHouse to the CPC. Further using the CPC it is possible to carry out offline inventory of goods in a warehouse. This information is transferred back to the StoreHouse system in the form of the delivery note. The application on the CPC can be used only for inventory. It was developed on iPAQ 4700. PDA with Windows CE 4.21 are supported.
