NPO Saturn implements the system of communications

On April 22, 2014 it became known of the joint project of NPO Saturn and COMPAREX company regarding system implementation of the joint communications on the Microsoft Lync Server 2013 platform in an IT environment of NPO Saturn.

Project Tasks

The geographically-distributed structure and need of more operational and high-quality information exchange between the staff of NPO Saturn led to upgrade of a system of communications on the basis of modern IT solutions. As infrastructure of NPO Saturn is constructed mainly on technologies of Microsoft, the Lync software product became the choice. The partner in the project - COMPAREX company.

Project Progress

Specialists of NPO Saturn together with COMPAREX carried out implementation of a single communication framework of a corporate class of Microsoft Lync Server 2013.

At the first stage of the project IT specialists of NPO Saturn and COMPAREX picked up the optimal procedure of implementation of a single communication framework. Created a failover cluster with runtime allocation of loading between nodes then held pilot system testing and its functions, further introduction of service to operation.

In a work progress the customer showed much interest in such functions of a system of communications as reducing costs of communication services, full support of conferences by mobile clients regardless of their location, integration with the available system of a video conferencing, a user-friendly interface, quick access to the chosen contacts and other improved possibilities of the solution.

"First of all, there is a wish to note that with implementation of Lync the efficiency of communication thanks to emergence of personal video conference increased, the most part of information is transferred on a visual channel. Besides, employees can show different materials, the presentations and to submit them for collective discussion, having just provided access to the desktop to other participants. Need of personal presence of responsibles at meetings disappeared. Communication with territorially remote branches of the company is provided. It is sure that all this, certainly, will affect efficiency of decision making in the company and will improve processes of interaction between representations and also will significantly cut down expenses on communication services", - Yury Zelenkov, the director of information technology of JSC NPO Saturn noted.

Project Results

As a result of implementation of Microsoft Lync Server 2013 the NPO Saturn company received the failsafe service of communications expected a heavy load and having a stock of resources in the order.
