The Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee on preparation and holding the XXII Olympic winter Games 2014 provided security system infrastructure for security officers

On April 28, 2014 the Asteros group announced the project of creation of security perimeter of the Olympic village of the coastal cluster during preparation for holding the XXII Olympic Games in Sochi.

Project Tasks

Specialists of the Asteros group were faced by a task: create the project solution and implement technical actions for ensuring complex security and anti-terrorist protection of the Main Olympic village, buildings for accommodation of the Olympic family and the International Paralympic Committee.

Project Results

The command of integrator less than in four months ensured complex safety of the Main Olympic village. Total length of security perimeter was 3.5 km, in its structure the pedestrian and transport and pedestrian check-points which are completely meeting the requirements of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to capacity.

Within the project installation and equipping of all check points by technical means of examination, installation of perimeter means of protection, and also specialized complexes for identification of subversive and terrorist means is implemented. Besides, at pedestrian check points footwear scanners, and on transport and pedestrian – special complexes for examination of the bottom of cars were installed.

The central part of the project - the command center of security where operational staff of FSB, the FSO, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation were placed. Asteros fulfilled all requirements of representatives of law enforcement agencies. Exactly here during the Olympic Games the operational data arriving from all stationary and rotary cameras with high quality of the transferred image were consolidated and processed. In the territory of OOD about 600 cameras are mounted.
