Nytvensky of an award of Patriotic war of the first degree steel works (nowadays JSC Nytva) is one of the oldest enterprises of the Western Urals and has long-term history.
The enterprise is founded in 1756 under the Decree State Berg board as the copper-smelting plant. Alexander Grigoryevich Stroganov (1678 – 1754) was the founder of the plant. After his death of ownership send it to the wife Maria Artemyevna, and then as the wife's dowry – baroness Anna Aleksandrovna Stroganova – the Nytvensky plant became the property of the prince Mikhail Mikhaylovich Golitsyn.
In 1768 the plant is converted in iron and up to 1932 its profile changed several times: the plant produced roofing iron, sheet rolling, projectile sleeves, farm vehicles. Since 1932 production of bimetal, since 1939 – consumer goods (dining rooms and kitchen appliances, furniture accessories), since 1945 – a steel tape began.
For the benefit of strengthening of defense capability of the country creation of modern and high-tech capacities for production of a bimetallic tape for the cartridge plants of the country was required. In 1971 the decision on construction of new workshop steel-tombac is made (it began in 1974). At the end of 1976 the new boiler house providing with heat factory premises and the residential sector is started up in a system.
During the period from 1974 to 1977 etching departments of workshop No. 2 (workshop of cold rolling) and workshop No. 1 (workshop of hot rolling) were subjected to new reconstruction. In December, 1982 the first stage of workshop No. 3 (workshop of cold rolling) became operational. In 1983 the release of a steel cold-rolled tape in a roll is mastered, and since 1985 industrial production of bimetal 3 in a roll began.
In 1985 Nytva Metallurgical Plant is awarded the order Patriotic war of the first degree.
In 1985 the workshop on production of products is put by method of powder metallurgy into operation; product output from metal powders by method of cold pressing with the subsequent agglomeration in SYuN, STN furnaces is mastered.
In the course of expansion of production volumes workshop No. 13 (workshop of consumer goods) was equipped with the high-performance equipment. The range of products changed: tableware, table and kitchen sets. The release of table sets with effect of silver gloss and also with effect of gilding is mastered (a decorative covering titanium nitride). For 2005 the workshop produced more than 11 million pieces of products.
From 1988 to 1994 the workshop on production of kitchen knives worked. In 1992 industrial production of containers tanks for transportation of liquid and pyureobrazny products is organized.
In December, 1993 Nytva Metallurgical Plant is reorganized into Nytva joint-stock company with the mixed property (without foreign participation). In 2003 the controlling stake was acquired by the SOK Samara group. In 2004 the plant was a part of the Perm financial and industrial group. The Estar management company acquired a controlling stake in 2005.
Consumers of products of JSC Nytva are the enterprises practically of all industries of the national economy, different patterns of ownership, including the enterprises of defense industry, mints of Russia and neighboring countries, the largest automobile works, the enterprises of electrotechnical and mechanical engineering industry, network wholesale and retail by consumer goods.
