The company Open Technologies, the Russian system integrator, announced in May, 2014 project completion on creation of the computer network for a new data processing center of JSC East Express Bank.
Prior to the beginning of the project the main computing resources of bank were located on two geographically distributed platforms in Khabarovsk. From the moment of their creation business of the customer considerably grew, and the existing infrastructure began to limit possibilities of further development. Therefore the decision on creation of a new data processing center which would satisfy to the current and anticipated demands of bank was made.
As the contractor of the project the company Open Technologies was selected.
Within creation of new DPC the task of creation of the scalable high-performance network subsystem providing a continued access of users and clients of bank to the information services placed in DPC and also interaction between structural divisions and access control of users to external networks was set for integrator. It was in addition necessary to provide future integration of the computer network of DPC with network of reserve DPC which the bank is going to create for the purpose of ensuring continuity of work of services in case of refusal of the main data center.
During design specialists of the company Open Technologies executed development:
- architecture of network taking into account requirements of DPC by quantity and type of the connected equipment, capacity of channels and network performance;
- the strategy of protection of DPC against threats from the Internet, a corporate data network (WAN) and networks of partners of bank;
- concepts of the organization of the DPC geographically distributed disaster-proof network and RDPC.
Then supply of equipment was executed, the commissioning of physical and virtual solution components is made, implementation of management systems and monitoring is carried out by physical and virtual components of the computer network of DPC and also devices of information security.
The built computer network became a reliable basis for new DPC based on which all main information services for users and clients of bank were deployed.
As the project manager on the organization of new DPC Popov O.V. noted, "the new DPC increased availability of our information systems due to application of modern means of storage, processing and data transmission, at the same time having reduced operating expenses on maintenance of IT infrastructure. All main phases of creation of the computer network of DPC were completed according to the initial plan that allowed us to perform input of new DPC in operation and migration of information services in the short time delivered by the management".
In more detail about technical aspect of the project:
For the purpose of increase in level of unification of components and reduction of risk of emergence of problems of interaction all computer network of DPC was built using the equipment of one producer. Considering technology advantages of the equipment for creation of DPC networks and also need of easy integration with the existing network of the customer, as the producer of active network equipment, virtual switchboards, the cybersecurity systems and network management systems the Cisco Systems company was selected from the project.
At creation of the computer network of DPC the family equipment Cisco Systems Cisco Nexus, Cisco ASR and Cisco ASA and also the software of Cisco Prime was used. Network equipment of the Cisco Nexus family was selected because in it the maximum attention is paid to reliability, performance and functionality, crucial for DPC.
Use of devices of the Cisco ASR series allowed to increase cost efficiency of the solution as one and too the device can perform functions of the boundary router, firewall and device of enciphering in the common decision.
Traffic filtering and also the deep analysis of protocols for prevention of the different attacks are provided in the solution by the devices of protection Cisco ASA recognized in the industry. And their integration with intrusion prevention systems considerably increases opportunities for counteraction to modern threats of cybersecurity.
In turn, the monitoring system and managements of Cisco Prime allows to create the single console of control of the computer network of DPC via which procedures of setup of the equipment, configuration management are on a centralized basis performed and also monitoring and a software update on the equipment is performed.
