HOST Group constructed the system of the management reporting for VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation

The HOST group constructed the system of the management reporting for economists and heads of JSC VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation. A system covers more than eighty reports in the field of financial and economic activity.

JSC VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation is the Russian metallurgical company which is the world leader in production of titanium with a full stroke of production. At the time of start of the project in 2012 at the enterprise about ten different accounting systems — productions, sale, the salary, cost value, a remaining balance, a status of fixed assets and others were used. Among themselves they practically did not interact. That top management on monthly results or could make quarter an adequate "picture of the world", every time was required to carry out serious preparatory work. The management of corporation made the decision on creation of a system of the analytical reporting based on Business Intelligence (BI).

"Among products of world vendors we looked for the solution with wide functionality, high performance and a possibility of further development to a budgeting system and forecasting — Kovalnogov Pavel, the head of department of IT of JSC VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation remembers. – As a result stopped on IBM Cognos. Its implementation was preferred to be given to local integrator. Existence of competences on Cognos, experience in creation of the data warehouse and sales opportunity of the project for reasonable times and money was one of the main conditions of assessment of contractors. On set of factors a choice was made for benefit of HOST Group".

The project was implemented in three stages. On the first — specialists of HOST Group built the uniform data warehouse based on Oracle Warehouse Builder where data from all accounting systems were consolidated. Creation of regulated reports in Cognos – became the second stage of the project. Together with it audit of reporting system when analysts and specialists of HOST Group considered logic of formation of this or that digit in the report was actually booked and literally on steps sorted as data as they are interpreted are obtained and whether the specific indicator is relevant. At the third stage indicators were visualized for directors using dashboards. Eighty reports covered financial and economic activity in different cuts and dynamics: balance of the enterprise, profits and losses, budget of the enterprise, monitoring of a system of managerial indicators.

Services of programmers are required only for connection of some new information system to the uniform data warehouse or for adding of a new indicator".
