UWB RTLS (Real-time Locating System is the system of positioning in real time)

Product
Developers: AMT Group
Date of the premiere of the system: April, 2014
Technology: Satellite communication and navigation

The developer of information systems RTLS and the Russian integrator "AMT Group" provided in the spring of 2014 a prototype of the next version of the system of positioning in real time — UWB RTLS. This version of a system is intended for positioning with an enhanced accuracy of people and objects in difficult conditions, including in the premises saturated with the equipment and furniture. Thanks to corporate algorithms of signal processing the accuracy of determination of location is several centimeters, and not only for motionless objects, but also at their movement with a speed up to 30-40 km/h, claim in the company.

As explained in AMT Group, the enhanced accuracy and resistance to multibeam attenuation (to noises from multiple echo signals) are reached due to use of ultra broadband radio-frequency technology — Ultra Wideband (UWB). As well as in the previous versions of a system, positioning is performed by measurement of distance from the radio-frequency tag fixed on an object to not less than three anchors — the transceivers fixed in the controlled territory in points with the known coordinates and postprocessing of data retrieveds.

The provided system develops the existing line of the RTLS solutions RTLS and AMT Group intended mainly for use in large premises — workshops, machine halls, depot, warehouses and in the open territory, and providing accuracy of one-two meter, optimal for these conditions.

RTLS (Real-time Locating System is the system of positioning in real time) is the automated system providing identification, determination of coordinates, display on the plan of location of controlled objects within the territory covered by necessary infrastructure. RTLS accumulates, processes and stores information on location and movements of people, objects, mobile mechanisms and vehicles for the purpose of monitoring technology and business processes, signaling about deviations from regulations and also for the purpose of the retrospective analysis of these or those processes and situations.
