The first industrial system implementation of RTLS at the JSC Severstal enterprise is complete

The companies RTLS also AMT GROUP announced in May, 2014 end of the first project on system implementation of positioning and monitoring of transport and loading means indoors ("Steel wire workshop 1") head enterprise JSC Severstal-metiz. A system is constructed based on RTLS technology and integrated with the automated system operating at the enterprise "SCYTHIAN". The developer, the general contractor and equipment supplier – RTLS LLC. The system design is performed with the assistance of AMT Group company.

The system of positioning in real time of RTLS is put into operation in nail-making workshop JSC Severstal-metiz. Wireless infrastructure of a system covers all territory of workshop of 130 thousand sq.m and 146 base stations – 128 anchors and 18 gateways include.

Basic purpose of a system – monitoring of the loaders working in workshop. All 50 loaders working in workshop are equipped with the tags which are specially created in the course of system implementation for vehicles with load sensors on a loader arrow.

At this stage the RTLS system provides the solution of the following tasks: control of speed of loaders for the purpose of ensuring production security and control of use of loaders in the course of which the time spent of each loader for an object, time of its work and a downtime is defined. On the next stage the solution of a problem of control of process of shipment of finished goods is planned.

For users – the staff of different divisions – 10 jobs allowing to make setup of a system, to enter zones of control and to set rules for these zones on the plan are provided to observe visually in real time location and movements of loaders, to browse the history of their movement, to obtain information on all cases of exceeding of authorized speed, to create by the set criteria and to receive reports on speeding and efficiency of use of loaders.

Specialists of the companies carried out design engineering of all system, including fiber optic routes and a data network for connection of gateways of a system to a local network of the enterprise. Besides, design of power supply of the equipment of a system and constructions for installation of base stations was carried out.

The RTLS system has ample opportunities and high flexibility that allows with the minimum costs of time and means to adapt it for solving of tasks of the specific customer. In particular, the basic possibility of creation of a monitoring system of loaders based on RTLS was shown to the customer a little more than a year ago. Less than half a year from a decision instant the customer required on development and testing of a subsystem of control of a load on a loader arrow. On system implementation year in full was required.
