Situation
EOI - the recognized leader in the organization of e-learning and the innovation knowledge management, is one of the best economic and IT of universities of the capital. Heads of higher education institution watch closely current trends, including in information technology field.
The communication solution on the basis of Microsoft Lync Server was for a long time known to specialists of EOI. Lync was considered first of all as the solution for video conferencing between heads of branches. In a situation when working questions need to be submitted for the general discussion, and, at the same time, quickly to make the decision – the video conferencing was the most suitable system. A choice exactly towards Lync was made thanks to the fact that this solution is perfectly integrated with other Microsoft applications, has the intuitive interface, it is convenient in use and is rather economic in implementation.
Solution
Within the project, Lync infrastructure, at the system of the Joint communications which is previously developed in the main building of higher education institution was expanded, i.e. all other branches were connected and also external access to a system is organized.
Results and advantages of implementation
According to the results of implementation, potential users of Lync, i.e. heads and the staff of branches, received complete functionality of Lync that allows them not only to carry out audio and video of a conference, but also to quickly resolve the arising issues by means of instant messages.
In further perspective are going to carry out integration of Lync with the existing telephony to EOI.
