Gymnasium No. 1551 Moscow (Microsoft Lync)

Situation

The gymnasium of 1551 from the first look makes an impression of hi-tech and innovation educational institution. It is not accidental. Educational process in gymnasium No. 1551 is based on the basis of active application in training of modern educational technologies. The same approach extends to all fields of work of a gymnasium. After consolidation with several schools and gardens, for ensuring controllability and maintenance on high works with pupils, there was a need for an operative and high-quality communication between separate buildings. Besides, there was a need for regular communication of the director with employees of operational issues, such as absence of the pupil, for example.

Solution

The management of a gymnasium paid attention to Lync 2013 since it optimum solves assigned tasks: consolidation in a single network of employees from several buildings; a possibility of an operative communication in several ways, such as chat, audio and video are ringing; the system of the statuses which allows to control presence of necessary employees on places; an opportunity to hold meetings, without moving between the body and offices and also, the possibility of the organization of distance learning in the long term will appear. The gymnasium of 1551 addressed to Linkom LLC, not just as to specialists in the field of implementation of the Joint communications on the basis of Lync, but also as to the company which has extensive work experience in the field of education.

Within the project, to 70 employees of a gymnasium the basic functionality of Lync, with external access was implemented. It means that employees of a gymnasium can communicate among themselves in a chat, in a format of audio and video conferences, to connect to conferences of other (external) users (perhaps, colleagues) from Lync or systems integrated with it: OCS, Lync, MSN, GoogleTalk, Skype. Besides, the configured functionality allows to hold webinars with pupils on the Internet, to be connected and use Lync from any place in the world and from any device, from a holiday or a business trip, for example.

Project deliverables and advantages to the organization

The management of a gymnasium No. 1551 remained enough course of the project, quality of the services rendered to Linkom LLC and, of course, a product. In a gymnasium already actively use Lync, and meetings between the staff of different divisions – one of the most popular scenarios. Besides, as note in a gymnasium, Lync was the irreplaceable solution for an operative communication and the solution of urgent questions.

In further plans of a gymnasium the following steps on expansion of functionality Lync are planned, namely: integration with telephony that will allow to communicate not only on network but also to call "to the city" and to receive incoming calls using Lync.
