Content

The Russian developer "Prognoz" created a uniform information resource of the most complete official statistics of the Central bank of the Seychelles.

Customer

The central bank of the Seychelles (The Central Bank of Seychelles, CBS) is the principal regulating authority of a credit system of the Seychelles. It was founded in 1983. The office of bank is located in the capital of the country of Victoria.

Project Objective

The purpose of creation of the portal (cbs.africadata.org) – providing on a uniform information resource of the most complete of official statistics of the Central bank of the Seychelles that promotes increase in level of information openness of the main financial institution of the country. The project is executed within the initiative of the African Development Bank Information backbone (africadata.org) directed to creation of complete information space in Africa and designed to change approaches to collecting of statistical information and data exchange on the continent.

The created solution

Among the data available on the uniform portal of the Central Bank Seyshel - information on average rates of different currencies, volumes of transactions, reserves, indicators on the credits, indicators of payment system, balance of payments for different years.

The resource created by Prognoz developers allows to perform a broad spectrum of works with data, including collecting, search of the interesting indicators of a financial system of the country and data analysis.

The instruments of data analysis on the basis of OLAP technology developed Forecast and used on the portal of the Central Bank Seyshel allow to execute necessary grouping of data, to make calculations, to create the customized tables and diagrams.

The statistical portal of the Central Bank of the Seychelles consists of the following sections:

  • Data Search. A searching tool of the data interesting the user. In the tool the possibility of a preview of graphical representation of data is implemented.

  • Dashboards. A set of analytical panels for interactive content management. This tool allows to visualize, compare and estimate data. Thanks to enhanced capabilities of visualization users can browse indicators and time series in tables, maps and diagrams.

  • Maps. The section which represents the interactive map using which the user has an opportunity to browse and trace in dynamics these or those economic indicators across territories and regions.

  • DataAnalysis. Using analysis tools on the basis of OLAP technology it is possible to execute necessary grouping of data, to make calculations, to create the customized tables and diagrams. At data analysis such functions as filtering, formatting, illumination of the data meeting a certain condition, the analysis "80/20" are available. Results of user queries can be printed, saved or exported to files of different formats.

Besides, on the portal the instrument of feedback coupling using which the Central Bank can receive comments, offers, to respond to the requests of users is implemented.

Project Results

In the Central Bank Seyshel calculate that the portal will be useful to analysts and economists, representatives of business and the banking sector to monitoring of a situation in a banking system of the country. Besides, representatives of scientific community and students for carrying out economic researches, preparation of publications and the solution of other tasks can use its data.

It, in turn, will allow the general public to understand better the activity performed by bank and will provide with business data for adoption of more justified economic decisions", - Caroline Eybel, the president of the Central Bank of the Seychelles noted.
