Content

On May 29, 2014 Avaya announced the project in "The center of hygiene and epidemiology in Sverdlovsk region": infrastructure on the Avaya Aura Communication Manager platform is implemented.

Project Tasks

The wide branch network of the Center needed standardization of solutions on the organization of the IP telephony system, cost reduction on a city and domestic long distance communication, its service, creation of a modern system of interfilial interaction, the organization of effective joint work of staff of the Center.

The customer initiated the project which developer and the contractor was an Urals Integration company.

Project Progress

During the project implemented in 3 months the system of unified communications in divisions is created:

  • head office in the city of Yekaterinburg;
  • 3 branches in the city of Yekaterinburg;
  • 6 branches in Sverdlovsk region.

At head office the failover cluster from two Avaya Aura Communication Manager servers, two gateways G450 for connection of PSTN channels and connection of analog subscribers is set. For a part of subscribers IP phones 9640G and 9608 are installed. In branches, in Yekaterinburg, are set IP phone numbers 9608 and 1603. In branches in Sverdlovsk region the gateways G450 and G430 for connection of PSTN channels and analog subscribers and also IP phone numbers 9608 and 1603 are installed.

Infrastructure management is executed on the Avaya Aura Communication Manager platform. The operability of a system of telephony at failure of a communication channel between branch and head office provides the mechanism of local basic fault tolerance (Standard Local Survivability – SLS).

Complexity of the project - migration of the acting analog subscribers and analog communication lines of the PSTN on the new equipment with the minimum influence on work of staff of the Center. In most branches there was no operational documentation on the system of telephony, it did migration process by an uncommon task.

Employees "the Urals Integration" carried out the analysis of the systems of telephony in branches and prepared the plan on the basis of which migration on the project scheme is executed.

Project Results

  • development of the technological solution on the organization of a system of unified communications is executed;
  • supply of equipment is executed. Commissioning and start of a system in working operation are performed;
  • equipment purchase costs at the expense of a possibility of flexible use of new solutions when preserving the necessary analog systems are reduced;
  • the centralized, scalable and failsafe solution on the organization of communication between branches is created;
  • the efficiency of interaction between the staff of the organization due to emergence of a unified plan of telephone numbering increased.
  • considerably service quality of customers increased. Use of a digital stream of E1 at the central office improved quality of telephone communication at communication with external subscribers. Automatic voice greetings, a possibility of the directed additional set of the extension of the subscriber are implemented.

"Implementation of this project we solved several problems at once. Branches of the Center were connected to corporate IP telephony and are united in a common information space on the basis of a corporate multiservice data network. It allowed to improve operational management and interaction of our branches, and also to optimize process of rendering services to the population. In the project progress specialists "Urals Integration" professionally executed a commissioning of a system IP telephony Avaya and migration from the existing UPATS on a new system, consultation and training of our specialists in the implemented solutions is provided", - told Alexey Lutkov, the head of department of information support of the Center of hygiene and epidemiology in Sverdlovsk region.
