The dairy plant in the city of Tula (The Tula dairy plant, Pipe Metallurgic Company) was open in 1943. Initially at this small enterprise the narrow range of products was made very much and manual work prevailed. Today it is the company of the food industry, largest in the region, which holds a leading position on the scale of processing of milk, the volume and the range of the produced products. A necessary sales term of strategy of the enterprise - achievement of high rates of labor productivity and level of automation.
Product assortment of Pipe Metallurgic Company contains more than 80 trade names and is implemented by nearly two thousand outlets. Its considerable part belongs to the category of perishable products: it is impossible to order them "too much" that it was not necessary to write off unrealized goods upon termination of an expiration date, and it is impossible to order "too little" not to cause a loss of the company in the form of a lost profit. Therefore, data collection and processing on outlets should be optimized so as far as it is possible.
For this purpose in 2011 within sales department of the Tula dairy plant the trade team was formed. They had to go round regularly outlets, create orders, monitor the calculation of products on shelves, etc. The solution which at the same time would help sales agents to automate the work and to their management to exercise effective control behind how it is performed (distribution by routes, a time recording, etc.) was necessary.
Solutions:
With products of EDISOFT company Dairy plant the was sign and earlier – since the end of 2010 exchange of documents with partners was performed by means of the EDI WEB portal (documents ORDERS, DESADV, RECADV). Considering positive experience of cooperation and that fact that only the EDISOFT company offered simultaneous access as to solutions on exchange of documents in the environment of web, and to mobile trade, the choice was predetermined. A role was played also by flexible opportunities for integration setup (about them below) and also competitive prices of the solutions EDISOFT. In April, 2013 the Tula dairy plant began implementation of EDI Agent-of a special application for smartphones and tablets based on Android for optimization of work of sales agents.
"At our enterprise the whole 2014 is held under the motto of optimization. Including it concerns work of personnel. Sales representatives reside in "fields", their activity is not noticeable for the head. It is possible to give an assessment to activity of such employees based on accomplishment of KPI. But understanding of potential of further development of the territory of the mobile agent requires much more information, such as way of movement, route, start time and completion of work, load of a route. Within market monitoring of similar software the set of solutions was considered, as a result we stopped on EDISOFT company", Sergey Bakulin, the head of JSC Tula Dairy Plant sales department.
Customization:
Works on implementation of EdiAgent were carried out by forces of programmers of the Tula dairy plant and EDISOFT and took place in several stages.
As the enterprise uses the "non-standard", customized accounting system, search of ways of its integration into the platform in data exchange was a priority. The EDISOFT platform is own development of the company, and it allows to find individual solutions for the customer quickly. In this case exchange was configured using EDI Connector considerably modified and adapted for the accounting system of the Tula dairy plant.
At the request of Pipe Metallurgic Company function of settlement with clients was finished, namely its detailed detailing is implemented. Thanks to it sales agents had an opportunity to browse an outstanding amount on specific goods instead of the total amount of a debt that, finally, simplified work with the closing documents (possibly St to take away cash orders for each separate delivery) and allowed to optimize accounting work. Also at the request of Pipe Metallurgic Company specialists of EDISOFT implemented a possibility of mass sending messages to sales agents. Thus, need to ring round representatives in an individual order disappeared, let us assume, to announce an action, a discount for this or that product.
The most part of necessary technical works is finished, Pipe Metallurgic Company starts application testing; large-scale start is expected in June-July of the current year. According to representatives of the company, complexity in mastering of the program at employees does not arise. Upon termination of the test period, sales agents of the enterprise will be provided with tablets based on Android that will allow to speak about a successful completion of implementation of EdiAgent and process of automation of activity of sales representatives of the Tula dairy plant.
