Content

On June 3, 2014 the Jet Infosystems company announced creation of the distributed virtualized DPC, multilevel data protection for services of different degree of criticality for VOLKSWAGEN GROUP Rus company.

Project Tasks

The dense production cycle of work of the enterprise imposes increased requirements to reliability of an IT complex and level of its service. Earlier many systems of the company functioned without reservation and the built-in mechanisms of protection. For prevention of possible idle times of systems at emergence of emergency situations, in the company began the complex project on creation of infrastructure of high availability which contractor was a Jet Infosystems company.

Project Progress

Carry out migration of the main production systems on new IT infrastructure it was represented possible only during a factory holiday prior to which from the moment of start of the project there were 2.5 months. In these record terms on the platform of two DPCs the failsafe computing platform including virtual farms, clusters of databases, networks of storage and a backup system is created and tested.

The following task - study of an end-to-end system of data protection from program and machine failures. In complete option she turns on periodic backup, continuous journalizing of changes of data on disk arrays (for an opportunity to recover data on any timepoint) and mirroring between platforms and also replication of virtual machines. However protection mechanisms for any system can be selected individually – depending on its business criticality. It optimizes costs for creation, scaling and operation of IT infrastructure and provides the necessary service level on each of 75 application services of the company.

Procedures of disaster recovery are in details worked and tested. 16 standard emergencies are selected, on each of which detailed instructions with the description of methods of diagnostics and failure handling are developed at the scheduled time.

The monitoring complex is unrolled: DWH, virtual machines and network infrastructure. In addition the analysis system of a status of key technology blocks on compliance to basic indicators is developed. This solution reveals trends of development of an IT landscape: shortage or surplus of resources, performance of separate components and infrastructures in general, operability of the equipment, operability of the system software, DBMS and so forth.

Project Results

"In this project we created not infrastructure under specific applications, and a single platform for ensuring fault tolerance of any IT services placed on it, – Vyacheslav Medvedev, the chief architect of the project of Jet Infosystems company told. – The applied technologies and also the developed standards of development and service of an IT complex allow to transform quickly it under business requests: change the level of fault tolerance of applications, increase capacities under the implemented systems. On implementation of new IT services about a week (whereas earlier – about half a year) is required now".
