Maria - one of the largest producers of kitchen furniture and wide retail network of Kitchen studios across all Russia and beyond its limits. Number of employees: 3000 people.

Situation

In process of growth of business and gain of the competition to Maria holding it was necessary to expand functionality on business data analysis, to increase convenience of work with the system of the management reporting and to increase its flexibility. To solve these problems, Maria unrolled the uniform data warehouse based on the Microsoft SQL Server platform, implemented analytical models for versatile data analysis in the form of an OLAP cubes and developed on the basis of SharePoint a corporate portal with the detailing reports.

Project Tasks

During implementation of the first project phase which started in September, 2012 and lasted about three months, was succeeded to solve the following problems:

  • The uniform data warehouse based on the Microsoft SQL Server platform is created.
  • Real data from four systems sources and also information of Federal State Statistics Service Rosstat were loaded into a system and the procedure of automatic update of data is configured.
  • Analytical models are developed for versatile data analysis and implemented in the form of an OLAP cubes.
  • For operating control of activity of the company are developed and placed on the SharePoint corporate portal of a panel of indicators with the detailing reports.
  • The module for mobile users of a system is connected.

Project Effect

The new solution promotes preserving of loyalty of customers as allows to predict loading of erection teams, proceeding from the signed agreements and to avoid risks of untimely installations.

Besides, the system of work with claims created in the company for the service center gives the chance to analyze who is guilty of emergence of defect at what stage it appeared, what control terms of its elimination, etc. Thanks to such system the Maria enterprise managed to lower a defect level and to reduce time of their elimination. All this leads to satisfaction of clients and increase in their loyalty.

By a preliminary estimate, load of IT department decreased on 50-60 man-hours in a month. According to forecasts, the indicator of loading will decrease and further.

Staff of Maria company actively uses the self-service portal constructed based on SharePoint technologies on which they place the reports developed in Excel and Power View. Thanks to such approach load of IT service and developers considerably decreased. Now users are capable independently, without sending a request in IT service, to generate content and to exchange it with colleagues and the management. In turn, most of employees get much quicker access to different relevant reports and analytical data as the stage of approval of functionality of reports of IT service and a development stage are absent. The number of users of a new system at the moment makes 200 people. It is until the end of the year going to bring their number to 600.

Project implementation, by a preliminary estimate, will allow to increase performance of designers approximately by 10% at the end of year. The average number of kitchens which are sold by one designer a year is 36 units. The gain in 10% means 4 kitchens a year. At the number of designers in 500 people and the average cost of kitchen in 6,500 US dollars at the end of year such increase in productivity provides increase in revenue in the amount of about 13 million US dollars.
