1. Company Description


1.1. The industries in which the company works

Retail. Retail by a jewelry. 585 company the largest federal network on sales of a jewelry.


1.2. Territorial Distribution

More than 320 salons selling a jewelry are in the territory of the Russian Federation opened. The company are provided more than in 90 cities of Russia.


1.3. Number of Staff

At the moment in the company about 2500 employees work.

2. Solved Problems / Assigned Tasks


2.1. Business Requirements For Implementation

The main objective – carrying out training in remote branches with the minimum finance costs.

And also:

  • Carrying out planned certifications
  • Holding estimated actions
  • Holding corporate polls


2.2. What business processes had to be automated (assessment, training, personnel recruitment, the expense accounting on training, etc.)

Basic processes of automation were:

  • Training of the acting employees
  • Testing based on training
  • Training of the new personnel getting to work in shops
  • Carrying out certifications


2.3. Criteria of Successful Implementation at the Planning Stage

System deployment speed and also implementation of all educational procedures of resident instruction in remote option.

Having analyzed the existing business processes it was made by terms of reference for project implementation.


3. Project Parameters


3.1. Terms of Implementation and Milestones of the Project

The beginning of the project – September, 2011. Implementation in all retail outlets – October, 2011. Project startup for office employees – January, 2012.


3.2. Project Team on Customer Side (from IT and grom HR). Roles in the Team, How the Interaction Took Place

Head of department of training (project manager): Kiryanov A. Business coach (creation of content): A.'s fall, Lutsenko O., Kharkiv S., Kulikova Yu. Support from IT of service in setup of terminals of end users.


3.3. The Main Difficulties During the Project

Certain time of adaptation of end users to SDO, was necessary to render the consulting help with phone to employees with use of a system. Need to finish functionality of a system as not all features were stated in terms of reference at once.


3.4. Did the Time and Financial Costs Correspond to the Previously Planned:

More than, all project was implemented in time and in the planned financial volume.


3.5. What restrictions of IT - infrastructure affected the project:

The major issue from IT infrastructure in our case was not. As a system at us is in lease, all service is made by the supplier.


4. Project Development

4.1. Development plans (what automation of business processes is still planned)


Precise plans of development at the moment are not available, but it will be possible it is the organization of webinars or new methods of assessment.


4.2. Filling With Content - How to Solve the Problem

Electronic rates in the main directions of training were developed and developed by specialists of department of training, in this case it is business coaches. Outsourcers for development were not invited yet as the department copes with development by own efforts.


4.3. Team to Support and Develop the System:

As a system historically is in lease, problems of technical character are solved by the supplier. Development of new procedures and filling by content is performed by forces of training center about involvement of experts for receiving materials in training subjects.


5. Project Results


5.1. Results (Quantitative And Qualitative)

The educational portal is open for all staff of the company, on the portal it is possible to obtain information on many questions interesting employees. The feedback system with shops and office in the form of a corporate forum for a possibility of any illumination of problems is created.

On the basis of the educational portal the electronic corporate newspaper "Gold Times" was implemented.

Thanks to a system became possible to carry out semi-annual certifications in all outlets of all branches to not dependences on remoteness.

All training programs therefore they became available in the remote branches were transferred to a remote format and the number of business trips for training was reduced.

Based on the educational portal the Corporate University project which allowed to expand knowledge, both linear employees, and heads was implemented.

Also by means of the portal we managed to train in short terms employees for transition of the company to a new ERP system of SAP.


5.2. The Most Significant Results Are Something Most Notable

Probably, project implementation Corporate university, it lasted several months and all staff of training center could participate in it. Especially as the subjects revealing in it were most interesting, and methods of the report of information in electronic rates were very various.


5.3. Reaction of Staff of the Company on System Implementation:

End users apprehended a system in the beginning very cold, but when understood advantages to themselves, activity on the portal quickened. Especially the majority liked a feedback system in the form of a corporate forum. Periodically there even passions were tensed, and it was necessary to enter moderators.


5.4. A feedback from heads (the company and divisions) according to the results of system implementation: Initial results were highly appreciated by primary customers, in our case it was the department of retail sales. An opportunity to provide training and certifications in not dependence on remoteness of branches could not but please them. Further the top management of the company highly appreciated project implementation Corporate university.
