WebRTC Media & Broadcasting Server is the server software for the organization of webinars, online conferences, broadcasts of video flows with web both IP cameras, and other types of demonstration of video content in real time.

2016: Web Call Server 5

On March 12, 2016 the Flashphoner company announced a release of the fifth version of Web Call Server [1].

The product was replenished with opportunities, including delivery of SIP calls to RTMP servers and CDN, broadcastings on iOS Safari through Websocket and new with IOS SDK.

Support of broadcasts of the screen from the browser (screen sharing) is added to Web Call Server 5, the web interface of the administrator with a demo section is developed, iOS SDK set for WebRTC-calls and streaming is released.

The result of testing of the version in the conditions of losses in network - the improved quality of a streaming video and calls, and streaming is processed, debugged and optimized.

It was initially going to release only local update of Web Call Server 4.1. However changes turned out so large-scale, and a functionality gain so considerable that we decided to appropriate to new release version 5.

Web Call Server 5 is available in the form of the server working under Linux OS.

2015

Flashphoner integrates browser SIP telephony and WebRTC-videotranslyation in the Web Call Server 4 platform

Historically occupied a niche of browser audio-and video communications to Flash and end users had to install in their browsers plug-ins for audio-and video conference. Thanks to WebRTC technology, plug-ins are not necessary and the browser is capable "from a box" to send video from the webcam to network, to accept and reproduce video flows.

Web Call Server 4, being a link for video transmission in browsers, allows to implement practically any scenario for WebRTC of audio-and video communications from the browser, such as video chat, conference, broadcasting of a video flow to web browsers, webinar, integration with SIP, browser calls on stationary and mobile phones, the "call from the website" function and many other things.

In the new version of Web Call Server 4 there was well convenient and universal API which allows to do web calls, to play stream video from web and IP cameras of video surveillance, to send video flows to the server and to exchange both text messages, and any information in real time.

To developers of services based on Web Call Server 4 well client JavaScript API and server REST API that allows to receive full control over audio-and video flows and to implement practically any scenario of interactive communications. The web developer creates web service, based on usual technologies, such as PHP, Rails, ASP, Java, and WCS4 undertakes all work with video and an interactive and is easily integrated with any web project at the expense of universal JSON/REST API.

Cardinal simplification of license model became other innovation of Flashphoner. The server with the cost of SIMPLE of license 999 USD became available in a complete configuration under the new license. This price offer is addressed first of all to the small Websites and Online projects which do not require industrial technical support. In this case consultations on operation of the server are provided only through Internet forums of producer - Flashphoner company. For business and industrial projects with personal technical support of the price remained at the previous level and did not change since February, 2014.

At release of WCS4, special attention was paid to drawing up the detailed user documentation. Four volumes of technical documentation addressed to system and network administrators, developers and also everyone to get acquainted with a product, give the comprehensive information about work with WCS4.

2014

On June 25, 2014 the Flashphoner company announced development of WebRTC Media & Broadcasting Server. A system is focused on carrying out multi-user stream broadcastings in real time.

The server is installed on Linux system and provides broadcast of an initial video flow to any number of clients. The browser with WebRTC support, the stationary IP cameras, media servers, other devices supporting the RTSP protocol and necessary codecs can serve as a source of video: H.264, VP8 for video and G.711, Speex, Opus for audio.
