MRV OptiPacket OP-X

OptiPacket (OP-X) is the platform of an operator class, the powerful tool - the integrating solution from optical transport and packet data transmission.

On June 24, 2014 the MRV company announced a release of the new platform of the operator class OptiPacket (OP-X).

In the new platform all developments of MRV company in the field of optical transport and packet data transmission are combined. Thanks to flexibility and scalability OptiPacket (OP-X) appears as the powerful tool of service providers for reaction, fast and minimum on costs, in response to requirements to bandwidth.

As a part of OptiPacket (OP-X) functional and effective solutions with support of high-speed interfaces of 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps are proposed. A rich set of modules allows to use a system, as as the boundary aggregating switches in data networks, and as the platform of optical transport (OTN).

The main idea consists in a possibility of combination of both scenarios of use within one platform that allows to reconfigure flexibly adding of necessary payments the existing system, depending on the current requirements to network.

Main features:

• platform performance - 3.2 Tbit / with at size 8RU;
• support of Ethernet, MPLS, IP gives the chance to telecom operators to offer the customer different L1, L2 and L3 services within one platform;
• x86 the architecture of modules of management allows to take out all control functions on the external controller for the best support of SDN/NFV;
• the platform is completely integrated with existing solutions of MRV OptiSwitch Carrier Ethernet 2.0 and a management system and Pro-Vision monitoring.
