The distribution center in St. Petersburg
On December 1, 2014 the CORUS Consulting company announced automation of RTs of O'KEY network in St. Petersburg.
Manhattan SCALE implementation project, in St. Petersburg, is carried out to RTs of the company within July-October, 2014.
Difference of this project - specifics of a warehouse. In Volgograd the warehouse, with dominance of piece goods is automated by Sukhoi, the St. Petersburg RTs "OK" is several temperature zones warehouse for storage of fruit and vegetable products, weight and piece goods, it caused presence of a number of specific processes.
Partners noted processing of goods with a so-called "average weight" - mean value for pallets. This functionality significantly simplifies work with weight goods and allows significant decrease in labor input of warehouse processing. The WMS system is integrated with scales - each process is followed by weighing of goods, including, on compliance to "the average weight". Inventory, registration, a complete set, acceptance and shipment, weight goods control with "an average weight" is made through data collection terminals. The mechanism for "fast inventory" is in addition developed and started.
Vasily Balakin, the head "Logistics" of CORUS Consulting Group, told: "The project was interesting that system implementation occurred on new RTs. Plus to everything, we were limited to deadlines. For launch of a system a set of warehouse personnel proceeded, but thanks to professionalism of a project team "OK" training of new employees in work in a system was made within the project diagram, and allowed to begin successfully work from the very first days. Even in case of outsourcing of warehouse personnel Manhattan SCALE proved to be as a system, convenient and clear for training of new employees".
"After start of transactions with the range of vegetables and fruit, on technology of work with average weight we had an opportunity to increase efficiency of our transactions with these goods and implemented almost all our technology needs for the WMS system. Thanks to harmonious and professional work of commands of Corus Consulting and O'KEY the project managed to be implemented in a short time that was essentially important for us, taking into account the coming period of New Year's Eve sales", - Evgeny Sokolov, the director of logistics of O'KEY group told.
