Nizhny Novgorod hydroelectric power station starts new DPC

On July 2, 2014 it became known of the project of A-security company on creation of a data processing center for the Nizhny Novgorod hydroelectric power station.

Project Tasks

Specialists of A-security company together with the staff of the Nizhny Novgorod hydroelectric power station in addition to the available IT complex of branch created the DPC providing high fault tolerance and reliability at system management of information security of an APCS of the enterprise. The new DPC will become a reliable basis for further development of information security of the Nizhny Novgorod hydroelectric power station, will help to consolidate information systems, to carry out the planned upgrade of systems to the shortest possible time.

Project Progress

A-security carried out a cycle of works:

• design of the solution,
• construction preparation,
• implementation of engineering and information systems.

The project is implemented in difficult conditions: The DPC is located near hydraulic units that caused the raised, non-standard requirements to vibration resistance of all systems of an object, increased requirements to functioning in the conditions of electromagnetic interferences of big power.

Works were carried out on a mark below ground level, in limited space. At practical use of DPC the functionality of the round-the-clock monitoring and management including in the mode of remote access is implemented.

Project Results

"Thanks to A-security we created qualitatively new solution which conforms to the international standards of reliability and allows to ensure information security of the HEPS, using the most advanced technologies. The DPC is certified on the Tier III level; procedural scheduled maintenance is carried out without interruption of functioning of DPC that allows to involve most effectively a data processing center", - Vadim Sidorov, the associate director on security of the Nizhny Novgorod hydroelectric power station noted.

Mihail Aronson, the board member of A-security, emphasized: "Creation of new DPC allowed to ensure information security of a corporate segment of the Nizhny Novgorod hydroelectric power station at qualitatively new level, to the meeting requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of personal data protection and a trade secret".
