Mosvodostok sent 400 employees to a virtual environment

On July 15, 2014 the Depo Computers company announced transfer of 400 jobs SUE Mosvodostok in virtual environment using the solution DEPO VDI.

Project Tasks

Jobs of employees SUE Mosvodostok were equipped with a broad spectrum of the diverse client devices which are not coping with new tasks. The enterprise constantly needed acquisition of modern PCs and graphic stations in large numbers. For correction of current situation and expense reduction, the customer made the decision on cardinal upgrade of IT infrastructure. Ensuring high performance, fault tolerance and controllability became the main tasks of upgrade.

Successful implementation of virtualization of desktops of users, requires accomplishment of several conditions:

• productive and failsafe server platform,
• modern environment of virtualization,
• continuity of business processes,
• simplicity of implementation,
• seamless integration with the customer's IT infrastructure
• information security support.

Project Progress

According to requirements SUE Mosvodostok the DEPO Computers company developed the unique solution DEPO VDI which provided virtualization of 400 "turnkey" jobs. The highly productive "cluster in a box" – the blade server of DEPO Storm 5310B7 in construct 7U including 10 servers edges and modules for interconnect of Ethernet of 1/10 Gbps became a basis of the solution. The storage system of DEPO Storage 4860 provided the highest performance and capacity of data transmission channels that allowed to unroll within one system 400 virtual work places at once.

Engineering infrastructure for power supply of the solution DEPO VDI is based on APC Symmetra LX. In addition to regular means of this system specialists of DEPO Computers developed the special software providing correct switching off and inclusion of a farm of virtualization at the unplanned termination of power supply. The optimized system of power supply of the solution DEPO VDI allows to prevent data loss and failure of the equipment in case of emergency situations.

Within project implementation on virtualization of jobs of employees SUE Mosvodostok, engineers of DEPO Computers deployed the solution DEPO VDI that allowed to transfer quickly to virtual environment of 400 jobs, to increase availability of crucial business applications.
