"Electronic Moscow" automates management of updates of servers

On July 17, 2014 the Electronic Moscow JSC announced control automation by crucial updates of servers.

Project Results

In Electronic Moscow JSC on the basis of Red Hat Network Satellite a technology system on deployment of the management console, repository and network placement is developed and customized. Rules, roles and technology processes are determined by system management. The implemented solution allows to manage on a centralized basis the servers on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform quantity more than 700 placed in DPC of Electronic Moscow.

Clients timely receive notifications on release and structure of updates of operating systems, and specialists of technical support manage resources and exercise control of them using a new technology system.

"Management of updates of the system and application software of servers is an important task of security and smooth operation of hardware and software systems. Our company operates thousands of servers therefore the solution of this task was particularly acute most. It was necessary to implement the solution allowing to manage on a centralized basis server groups, to create reports on need of installation of critical updates and security updates and also to set them and to control changes on servers of the clients who placed computing resources in our data centers" — Andrey Afonin, the associate director on operation and technical support of Electronic Moscow JSC noted.
