VGTRK was covered from DDoS attacks by the federal telecom operator

On August 1, 2014 it became known of the beginning of the project of Rostelecom company on protection of information resources of "All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company" against DDoS attacks.

Project Tasks

Rostelecom signed the agreement with the federal state unitary enterprise "All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company" on providing service "Monitoring of traffic and protection against DDoS attacks". Signing of the contract will help to protect information resources of the customer from DDoS attacks and to provide to them uninterrupted access for users.

"Recently we endured large-scale DDoS attack which we could stop thanks to speed of reaction of employees Rostelecom and to the high level of technical support. Then we came to a conclusion that we need to receive this service on a permanent basis and signed the supplementary agreement with Rostelecom, - Sergey Golubentsev, the deputy manager of development department of digital technologies, the director of directorate of information technologies of VGTRK told. - Since then we were convinced of need of this service thanks to which successfully reflected two more massive attacks. Additional benefit is that the service is provided by access statement in the Internet with which we have an experience of long and effective cooperation".

The service "Protection against DDoS attacks" - additional to service of Internet access also allows corporate users of Rostelecom to obtain complex communication services and security accreditations within one agreement. The service is provided 24 hours in an essence of 365 days in a year. The maximum volume of the traffic directed to a cleaning device is 160 GB / page.

Rostelecom provides services of Internet access to the largest Russian and foreign companies which audience of the websites makes tens of thousands of users a day. Therefore for these companies it is so important to provide protection of the Internet of resources from DDoS attacks which main goal to paralyze work of the website, to limit access to it for users, - Mikhail Zvyagintsev, the acting head of the sales department to corporate clients of federal level of Rostelecom noted. - Many clients of our Company connected service of protection of traffic against DDoS attacks at once as soon as it appeared. Detailed reports with analytical analysis of the attacks allow to estimate attack type, orientation and extent of impact on the protected resources".
