The Shell Ltd company which is a part international power and Shell petrochemical concern, is engaged in marketing of lubricants for passenger transport, the industry and commercial transport. The distributor network of the company covers all Russia, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.
At the end of 2008 the project on creation on the Contour BI platform 3.0 Internet analysis systems of sales of distributors was complete. A system allows to make the multidimensional analysis of sales, including collecting and data storage about sales, automatic generation of analytical reports and the analysis of sales.
Reports are based on OLAP technology that allows specialists and heads to browse data in different cuts, to instantly filter them, to interchange the position of columns, receiving new results. The additional option Digital Dashboard allows to receive reports in the form of tables, diagrams, devices and maps in any Internet browser. Data are automatically exported from the accounting systems, arrive on the server, updating and the publication of the OLAP reports is executed also automatically.
Partners of Contour Components company developed procedures of unloading of their systems given about sales on the 1C: Enterprise platform of versions 7.7 and 8, BEST, Accent and MS Dynamics NAV. System maintenance and data storage is provided with Contour Components company for what the special website was created.
As a result of about 300 users of a system - employees Shell and more than fifty companies distributors from Russia and Ukraine - had an opportunity to browse interactive reports that allows to carry out the marketing analysis by categories of clients, sales channels, types of products, seasons and territories. The companies distributors can make the multidimensional analysis of own sales also.
