Choosing a Solution
The network of children's shops "Korablik" selected Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 for business management. The GMCS company will help to construct a new back office system in all 145 shops (enters into MAYKOR).
Project implementation will allow the retailer to manage on a centralized basis the following key business processes within one system: purchases, logistics, goods acceptance in shops, management of a warehouse, settlings with suppliers, assortment management, accounting and tax accounting, management accounting, IFRS.
Special attention will be paid to process automation of pricing according to a uniform assortment matrix from more than 10 thousand names of goods. During the project process of management of advertizing campaigns (discounts, sales, etc.), integration with a cash system and with the loyalty program will also be implemented.
Project Progress
At the moment at Ship about 60% of purchases are made using bonus cards. Transition to a new back office system will also allow the retailer to develop omnichannel sales and to create the conditions reducing time from decision-making to commission of purchase at the expense of process optimization of search by buyers of the necessary goods, further personification of sales, development of delivery services and payment.
The separate block of works is connected with process automation of treasury and budgeting. In a system support of conducting an application campaign, including the accompanying document flow, support of ruble and currency payments will be implemented. The retailer will receive tools for planning and adjustment of budgets, control of cash flow, the plan fact of the analysis. Processes of conducting accounting and tax accounting and also management accounting, with a possibility of obtaining the reporting under IFRS will also be transferred to a single system of management.

"Ship" is one of the most effective and dynamically developing retail chain stores in the market – for the last year more than 30 new outlets were open. The company sees the mission not only in providing to clients the wide range of goods for competitive prices, but also develops additional services for parents and children (for example, a possibility of the order of goods which is not in assortment of shop, broadcast of children's animated films in trading floors).
"In addition to standard functionality, we automate also processes, specific to retail, and also we integrate a back office system with external systems and online store. That business of Ship worked online and important decisions were made regardless of location of the management, we will provide a possibility of approval of documents by means of the Internet browser and mobile devices", – Denis Timoshenko, the business director of GMCS says.
Project Results
On June 30, 2015 the Maykor-GMCS company announced end of system implementation of management on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 platform in network of children's shops "Korablik" and start of the solution in operation.
"Korablik has 160 shops in Moscow and the Central region, annually we open new shops, actively we develop online sales. Competent use of IT technologies allows to maintain such dynamics of business. Solutions of Microsoft are used by us for management of key business processes – from conducting management accounting before formation of the analytical reporting. In a project deliverable we avoided purely accounting functions in finance, automated treasury, provided the necessary reporting on a single platform, – Robert Sardaryan, the Chief information officer of Korablik network shares details. – I want to note that on behalf of MAYKOR-GMCS we found the reliable partner with whom interestingly and comfortably to work. Now together with MAYKOR-GMCS we conduct development of the mobile solution for heads of shops".
Within the updated system business processes are automated:
- accounting and management accounting,
- different types of taxes (VAT, income tax, property tax, transport, etc.),
- treasury using components of own solution MAYKOR-GMCS.
Obtaining the operational, analytical and regulated reporting, including the reporting under IFRS is configured.
Upgrade of a system of accounting of goods
On November 21, 2016 the CORUS Consulting company announced the final of an implementation project of blocks of retail and accounting of goods on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 platform. The project proceeded from May, 2015 to August, 2016.
Project Tasks: expansion of functionality of an information system due to transfer of the block of retail and accounting of goods from the Microsoft Dynamics AX 4 platform on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.
For several years Ship increased pace, opened a set of outlets, increased the list of assortment positions. Due to these changes the retailer needed the developed technology, with shioky functionality, to the corresponding business challenges of the company. Before business of the company was supported by the Microsoft Dynamics AX 4 platform.
The company management made the decision on transition to the version of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. When choosing technology base the performance level of future platform which should correspond to rapid growth of business is taken for the main criterion.
The main objective of the project with participation of Corus Consulting - automation of all main business processes of retail in a single system, including assortment management, merchandising, management of internal logistics, pricing, sales (the wholesale direction, etc.).
It was required to organize planned phased transition with Microsoft Dynamics AX 4 on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, without reducing rates of the project.
Organizing transfer of 180 shops of the retailer, project participants decided to separate outlets in line and to translate consistently till 5-10 shops for time. Especially for fast adaptation of users to a system, the project team of Corus Consulting developed the interface as close as possible to the previous version of a system that made transition more smooth and less painful.
On project deliverables the retail chain stores received the full-function system which is not requiring integration into other solutions that simplified process of reporting in the commodity and financial directions.
Integration with external systems is executed: Supermagician Microsoft BI Manzana Loyalty. Integration into the shipping documentation, the website is carried out. 500 automated jobs are reorganized.
